blog cooperation

An application that allows remote identity verification using, among others, bank details. It was created thanks to the API provided by the Polish fintech - banqUP.

Authologic is a new company of Rogoziński, Sygitowicz, and Klimczak. It has nothing to do with their past business. - A few years after the purchase of Zencard by PKO BP, we have finished our cooperation and decided to create a new solution, this time connected to open banking - explains Jarosław Sygitowicz, co-founder of Authologic.

The system is designed to help authenticate the customer's identity fully online - using, among others, bank data, the most reliable data on the Internet. Access to them, with the knowledge and consent of the bank's client, is provided to registered third parties (so-called TPP) in accord with the EU PSD2 directive. In the case of Authologic, the infrastructure and connection are provided by banqUP, a Polish-Belgian banking API aggregator, which was registered as one of the first TPPs by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

BanqUP offers its API, among others in the TPP-as-a-service model. Thanks to this, other entities (such as Authologic in this case) can use its license and infrastructure to create their services. - Thanks to the use of the banqUP's solution, we have the ability to quickly gain access to other banks, and in the longer term to quickly go beyond the Polish market - explains Sygitowicz. He also adds that they are already working on other solutions that open banking allows, for example, credit scoring based on transaction data.

How to sign a contract during the pandemic?

Authologic's co-founder admits that he has recently found himself in a situation where his system would prove useful. - As the biggest restrictions related to the pandemic have been in power, I signed a contract with a new mobile network. The courier saw my document and handed me a contract, but the next day he called that he should still take a copy of the document or its scan, which I, in turn, for security reasons, did not want to pass on to a stranger - he says. As he adds, the entire process of signing the contract took two days.

According to Krzysztof Pulkiewicz, logging in and signing contracts with bank details will become commonplace soon. - when social media have been spreading, solutions using data derived from them quickly began to appear. Banking data is significantly more reliable and universally available, and the way they are transmitted is much more transparent and secure for the bank's client. Identity verification, the ability to remotely sign a contract, or checking whether the customer has, for example, sufficient funds on the account for car rental, are the solutions that can be easily introduced thanks to open banking. We expect that more and more of such solutions will be created as banking moves towards digital - says Krzysztof.

Authologic with two clients, talking to another three

Authologic has already established cooperation with two clients, including the well-known platform for car rental and personal transport vehicles - Vooom. - We are positively surprised by the positive customer reaction to the creation of Authologic. Among the many interested entities, we see the most promising markets in vehicle and real estate rental, utilities and telecommunications services, and financial services, such as leasing or loans. On-line services, such as marketplace or fintech, also seem very interesting - says Sygitowicz.
